If you’ve found this page, you likely already know that the banana industry is facing serious issues.
Monoculture creates major risks for producers and the environment. Low prices make sustainable and fair production difficult. And a lack of transparency makes it hard for banana lovers to support dignified conditions.
Help launch something different.

A Different Banana is a new farmer-led venture aiming to support small-scale farmers in northern Peru transitioning to agroecological practices through stable and fair partnerships in the UK.
In collaboration with the Peruvian cooperative Agro Peru, Ollema Fairer Farming Ventures, and other supply chain partners, we are developing fair supply chains for fresh bananas and banana products (think gluten-free flour and dehydrated chips!) that will enable farmers to focus on strengthening biodiversity, healthy soils and local food systems.
We believe in transparency.
All products will be 100% traceable to a geo-referenced farm plot through our custom storytelling platform. You will be able to connect your banana to the source plot via QR code – and learn what role you can play in supporting agroecological transitions and small-scale producer cooperatives.
