Pratts Bananas and GMB warmly welcome agreement at Luton site

Pratts Bananas, one of the UK’s leading fruit importers, and GMB, one of the country’s biggest trade unions, today warmly welcomed the results of an ACAS membership check of GMB union members which will now lead to a voluntary bargaining agreement being signed by both parties.  The GMB’s involvement will further support Pratts at their site in Luton, which employs nearly 500 people.

Robert Wells, Managing Director or Pratts Bananas, said: “This is a great result, now we can move forward with the GMB working alongside us to support our staff and ensure that Pratts continues to grow and strengthen its existing business.

“Our workers are the number one priority and now we can continue the job together of developing the company and continuing our reputation of providing quality produce and quality service to our customers
”.

Alan Costello, GMB Officer, said “This a great day for all the relevant parties involved and in particular the 500 employees at Pratts Bananas. The GMB look forward to a long and constructive working relationship with Pratt’s will be endeavouring to represent the best interests of staff in all future negotiations at work”.
