A2 Banana Link poster campaigning to reverse the race to the bottom which results in driving down prices and squeezing out farmers; forcing down wages and cutting social benefits; more trace union repression and less job security; and increasing damage to the environment and human health.

An introduction to the threats posed to health and safety and environmental standards using the international banana trade as an example. Students will be given practical examples of how to support the improvement of health and safety and environmental conditions through international worker solidarity. Session length: 1 hour.

This two-part session is an expanded version of the Union representatives’ stand-alone session and is designed to be run across two 1-hour sessions.

Union representatives, part 1

An introduction to international trade using the banana supply chain as an example. Participants will be given practical examples of how to support workers in the banana industry through international solidarity. Session length: 1 hour.
